About Me
I have been working as a clinical counsellor for one and a half years and I have worked in education for 21 years. I am passionate about helping people discover their inner resources and the confidence to express themselves authentically in all settings. I believe that all human beings crave connection and want to be understood on a deep level but it can be hard to find this in our relationships to others. With Internal Family Systems theory (IFS), we work towards identifying the compassionate energy of the Self, and use it to form relationships with our internal parts that are trying their best to meet our needs, but in ways that do not serve us well. Examples of these parts are when we criticize ourselves, feel afraid to take risks, self-isolate, disconnect from others, experience pessimism, or engage in risky behaviour, among many others.
I welcome anyone who is interested in learning more about IFS to reach out so that we can see if this modality can help you meet your mental health goals.
